ABOUT PNITA

Mission Statement

Pacific Northwest International Trade Association promotes non-partisan support for international trade, works to develop policies that reflect the interests and consensus of its members who are dedicated to supporting global competitiveness under a fair and equitable trading system.

History and Purpose

Founded in 1982, PNITA is a private, non-profit trade association committed to promoting international trade throughout the Pacific Northwest region. Today, PNITA represents leading corporations and small businesses located in Oregon, Idaho, and Washington State. Our members are exporters and importers in the fields of agriculture, manufacturing, and the service sectors.

Throughout its history, PNITA has supported an open trading system including the enforcement of US trade laws that protect against predatory dumping and aggressive export subsidies employed by some of our trading partners. We have also worked closely with elected state and federal representatives to advocate for our members on trade interests of regional significance. These efforts include pursuing sound international tax policies, investing in the region’s transportation network, and promoting greater awareness and understanding of how trade benefits the economy and the community.

PNITA Executive Committee 2003
